Culica - General Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What if a player can't move on first go at CuColours
In CuColours, a player can sometimes lose quickly due to bad luck very early in the game. To prevent this, there needs to be an extra rule in the instructions. In future rules we will add this rule:
"No one can lose until at least one peg of each colour is on the Culica cube. Until then, if a player cannot go, pegs are drawn until a move is made."
Most people will instinctively do something like this, we hope :-)
What is an edge peg?
An edge peg is a peg on the side of a face that isn't a corner peg
For examples and pictures, see basic game positions.
What is a face?
A face is a two dimensional side of the Culica. The cube-shaped Culica has six faces. Each face has a three-by-three array of slots (each face has 9 slots).
how to move diagonally between faces?
A corner peg on one face can be related diagonally to only one other peg on an adjoining face: the closest edge peg. (An edge peg is a peg on the side of a face that isn't a corner peg).
An edge peg on one face can be related diagonally to either of the two closest corner pegs on the adjoining face.
For examples and pictures, see basic game positions.
What is diagonal?
A diagonal is when pegs are aligned not side-by-side, but at a 45 degrees angle.
For examples and pictures see basic game positions.
